The first project, an $800 million development in Cacique, Costa Rica, will include a 120-villa One&Only resort by Sol Kerzner, who developed the famed Atlantis, Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas; a 180-unit Miraval: Life in Balance-branded destination spa resort; a Tom Doak-designed golf course; and a tennis and fitness center designed by Andre Agassi and his wife, Stefi Graf. The goal of Revolution Places, which is part of Case's Revolution LLC, is to bring together premier hospitality partners to develop resorts that retain the local environment and culture, Case said.
"Costa Rica reminds me of Hawaii when I was born there nearly 50 years ago," said Case. "We are aiming to take the things that make authentic Hawaii so special, such as the connections to the local people, restaurants, shops and the spirit of aloha, while bringing together the best brands and applying the best principles and practices of today. he development will focus on environmentally friendly designs that reduce energy and water demand and take advantage of spatial, wind and solar patterns to maximize natural ventilation, shade and light, Case said.
Cacique, Costa Rica will feature a recycling and waste management program, on-site treatment facilities to reuse wastewater and will purchase its electrical power from renewable sources.
