"Gmail may be an excellent Web-based email application, but there is no easy way to use it with privacy tools like GnuPG. The FireGPG extension for Firefox is designed to solve this problem. It integrates nicely into Gmail's interface and allows you to sign and encrypt not only email messages but also text snippets from any Web page."

Man. This is nuts. Yeah, I'm too much of a pansy to post the numerical code here. But did you know HD encryption numbers have been leaked and are not the hottest meme in internet geekdom? Seriously.

The RSA algorithm was invented in 1978 by Ron Rivest, Adi Shamir, and Leonard Adleman. This is an explanation of the mathematical equation used to generate keys along with a working example in Perl.

Sometime this afternoon Digg users began to notice that posts related to the recent HD DVD encryption hack were disappearing or having their vote counts reset.

In response, thousands of users protested by posting and digging articles with the encryption key over and over again, completely taking over the site. Kevin Rose responded this evening with some good PR - they are allowing the posts to stay, and will deal with the legal consequences.Who knows what legal consequences there will be, really. It's an encryption key that can be written on a post-it note, and it's all over the net.

Zfone is a software package that allows you to make secure VoIP calls using standard VoIP services, such as SJphone, Gizmo or iChat A/V.

The product is still in beta, but when the full release becomes available, it will be released with a dual license open-source/commercial scheme, similar to MySQL. This should allow commercial VoIP hardware developers to embed the software in their devices.
