"As the price of gasoline continues to rise, rules to prevent credit card fraud at the nation's pumps are confusing consumers who just want a full tank of gas.
Caps on transaction amounts — or the total dollar amount of gas a customer can pump into their car — are limiting some drivers of gas-guzzling vehicles."

A frightening idea: Google-like transparency of personal finances. Pity and identity theft abound.

Prosper is a Web 2.0-style microlending system that lets you pool money with other investors. The money is lent to borrowers who might be trying to start a new business or consolidate their credit card debt. The start-up gets permission to do full credit checks and as a lender you have the option of reviewing potential borrowers, or even seeing what successful lenders are investing in. Pretty fascinating stuff.
