We just visited niagara falls. The U.S. side seemed pretty depressed, unfortunately. I remember thinking, this place is a dump as we drove into town. This used to be a huge tourist attraction and romantic getaway spot, so I'm not sure how the place tanked so bad.

The actual park was pretty nice, however, and the falls are really something to see. FYI, over the river, the Canadian side of the falls looks like it receives a lot more investment, with huge hotels and an all around pleasant look.
