Post detail: Prosper: Web2.0 microlending against U.S. consumer debt

Prosper is a Web 2.0-style microlending system that lets you pool money with other investors. The money is lent to borrowers who might be trying to start a new business or consolidate their credit card debt. The start-up gets permission to do full credit checks and as a lender you have the option of reviewing potential borrowers, or even seeing what successful lenders are investing in. Pretty fascinating stuff.

That is an amazing idea. It will be interesting to see how well this is adopted. Talk about getting over the whole "fear of internet privacy" thing.
