Philips has created a concierge that sends local information via text to your phone. While I love that Philips is doing something useful, it feels very disconnected to the brand or any Philips product either. One good thing: Minneapolis is available! via Chroma http://chromainc.typepad.com

I didn't even know Philips was in the mobile phone space.. but now I do, so maybe that's their objective.
On the other hand, I'd really like to know if they can send localized body grooming updates.

Pretty slick, however, if you request the list for Minneapolis, the first restaurant that is listed has been closed for like two years. Automated services like this only work if the data is relevant and up to date. Cool idea though.
