Not sure what this is, but worth checking out. Apparently an ongoing fellowship program run out of the RAAC center in Indianapolis. Some influential scholars have been through the program.

A list of programs offered by the OS&RL at Oxy, including course development grants, fellowships for undergrads, retreats, research opportunities, etc. Could be some good ideas in there.

Mashes up various web services (Google Maps, Flickr, plus others) to give you a map-based view of who's coming to your event and to facilitate setting up meetings while there.

Via Mashable. Pete Cashmore describes this as blogging for baby boomers (i.e. people who are too old to grasp the concept of blogging). I don't get the age aspect, but this looks like it might be a cool service anyhow. Wonder how it compares to Dandelife.

"Do Not Disturb" sets a timer during which you are locked out of programs or URLs you specify. You can override the lockout by entering a very long random string of characters. Kind of a cool idea.

Lifehacker's Gina Trapani wrote the "Invisibility Cloak" script, which will black out "dangerous" (i.e., time-wasting) URLs during working hours.

This is a Greasemonkey script that sets a time limit for surfing sites you specify. After you've spent, say, ten minutes on Flickr or Bloglines, a pop-up informs you that you've used up your allotted minutes and forwards you to a new page (the author suggests a photo of your boss as the forward-to page).

A number of promising-looking links. MP3Realm, DigitalAudioSearch, Project Playlist, skreemr, Sideload, and probably best of all, http://www.exploseek.com.

Since AOL killed Singingfish.com, where do we go for free, not-quite-legal-but-it's-not-P2P downloads? This blogger suggests http://www.mp3realm.org/ and also links to another related post.

Community sharing for e-learning objects. Promising, but the front page is vague about the site's mission and capabilities.

A Firefox addon that allows you to see when one of your favorite bloggers has commented on a page you're looking at. Could be handy.

Just another filesharing site, apparently, but if GAOTD uses it, it must be pretty good.

A new media player designed to integrate web browsing with a high-fidelity player. I think.

See your friends' tweets laid out on a big timeline. Sort of cool, maybe.

A real historical document, twenty-five years old. An extended, thorough profile of Thomas Road Baptist Church through the eyes of the New Yorker in 1981, when Falwell was just beginning to emerge on the scene.
