An interesting social experiment. It turns out that avatars in Second Life follow a lot of the same social rules regarding personal space that people do in real life. A combination of standing close and eye contact is a measure of intimacy, and people can get as uncomfortable online as they do in the real world.

The New Horizons spacecraft passed by Jupiter February 28th and was able to snap some of the best photos of the planet to date.

I'm not exactly sure why this is so fascinating, but it is. I wonder if commercial space exploration could be partially funded by a Real World or Big Brother type show which feeds a 24-hour, real-time broadcast of people doing space stuff.
