Google maps has a collaborate feature now that will let you make a map layer that you can share with a group or even the world. It works like a wiki, so anyone in the share list can edit, edd or remove any data point.

I'm monkeying around with it and trying to kick off a worldwide map of hackers. If you code--or just pretend to--click on this link and add yourself and your hacker friends to the map:

Ever since Google's Street View feature was added to Google Maps, people have been searching for funny or embarrassing photos that were captured by the Googlevan.

Here's a huge list of Street View sightings, including such classics as: googlevan reflected in building window, man caught exiting a strip club, dude breaking into a house, whoops - your thong is showing, and googlevan racing through a speed trap.

Have fun, geovoyeurs.

Here's a literal take on the viral web. Biomedical scientists used Google Earth to map the spread of the avian flu virus. The simulation contains additional data points including various strains of virus evolution and the hosts organisms that it is able to infect.

It's like Google maps' driving directions, but for public transportation. It's not available everywhere, but it's a neat effort by Google to help people use the transit system.

A simple utility that will consume data from a published Google Spreadsheet, and generate graphs using the javascript PlotKit library.

It also generates all the javascript code for you, so you can cut and paste the output as a widget into your own site.

By default, Google Analytics only tracks the filename portion of the URL, excluding any included query string entirely.

With a quick adjustment of your site's tracking code, you can force the full referrer URL to be reported.
