A comprehensive howto on getting the AppleTV software to run on an Intel mac in place of FrontRow (or the Finder if you desire).

This includes tricks for making it load local media and quit with a specific mouse click (normally there is no way to exit the apple tv app).

A good forum for everything mac-hack related. There's a decent project section that's been mentioned a few times recently in larger publications for some of their work toward unlocking features in the Apple TV.
