So here is an interesting way of looking at news links. The falling pieces represent the stories; the color and size of the pieces depend on the category the story belongs to and the total number of diggs the story has.

So here is a new feature from YouTube. DemoGirl put together a nice screencast showing how it works, but essentially, you can skin (however limited) a player to match your site design. The player also lets you scroll through all the videos that you've uploaded to YouTube. Its a really simple way to keep people up to date with your postings as well as watch what others are up to.

Picasa is a cool new web app from Google that allows users to upload images to a location on a map. Great way to document vacations, suggest cool roadtrips, etc. It looks like it can be easily integrated with Blogger Blogs. Pretty cool

Here is a great list of non-MySpace looking MySpace layouts. Some are really clean, some are calling out the fact that MySpace layouts usually look terrible. Goes to show you that given a web2.0 platform, you can really go in any direction you want.

Check out this little microsite for Microsoft's Visual Studio. They created a bunch of short machinema videos and allow others to submit. Pretty smart way to embrace the gamer audience...maybe.

This little web2.0 is pretty cool. You can create Google Map Mashups. You can share favorite places, attached photos and videos to pushpins and its skinable.

Click on the map to see videos about each destination. Some of the videos are user submitted, while others are definitely produced. Interesting concept though.

This is a cool web 2.0 app that allows you to share your desktop for presentations meetings, etc. The interface is really nice and the way you invite people to the meetings is slick.

These guys are using the web 2.0 model to its fullest. They have created a website that is essetially a tool kit for showcasing their talents and their understanding of the new online environmant. If you goodle them, they take up the first 3 pages of search without paying a dime. Pretty amazing in my opinion.
