The urban river was created by Henk Hofstra in Drachten, The Netherlands and shows how mind blowing public art can be. The blue road installation features about 1000 metres of road painted blue and the phrase ‘Water is Life’ written in an eight metre high letters across it. This project took 4000 litres of paint and costed 75,000 Euros.

Raytheon and Sarcos' robotics have built an exo-skeleton that gives soldiers super strength and endurance. It will be interesting to see if this actually goes anywhere.

"I lived on the Moon" is a animation inspired by the Sound Track "I lived on the Moon" of the Kwoon's Albumn "Tales and Dreams". The video is rad and the music is really cool as well.

Engineers at Cornell University have designed this odd-looking machine that can rebuild itself and also could perform repairs on itself.

haha, I didn't know they made this back in the 80s. A terrible movie based on the garbage pail kids. The soundtrack is terrible. Anywho, if you have an hour and 40 minutes to spare, check it out!

So here is an interesting way of looking at news links. The falling pieces represent the stories; the color and size of the pieces depend on the category the story belongs to and the total number of diggs the story has.

Kayvan Novak probably isn't a name you're too familiar with. If you recognized the name as the guy who played Arash in the film Syriana, stop reading this post and go try out for Jeopardy or something. For those of you still here, Kayvan has a new series kicking off in the UK called Fonejacker, a run-of-the-mill prank-call show that looks like it may rise above its failed predecessors (think Comedy Central's "Crank Yankers"). In this clip, he plays a linguistically challenged foreigner trying to buy some electronics, most notably a "Joovcuh Doovdé player" and a "Joovcuh Lookada Tuv." Don't get it? You will.

So here is a new feature from YouTube. DemoGirl put together a nice screencast showing how it works, but essentially, you can skin (however limited) a player to match your site design. The player also lets you scroll through all the videos that you've uploaded to YouTube. Its a really simple way to keep people up to date with your postings as well as watch what others are up to.

Ever wonder what the same clip would look like on all the different video networks? Probably not, but here it is anyway.
