Here is a video of musician Manu Delago playing the hang drum, which is a steel drum made in Switzerland that produces soothing sounds.

Is Radiohead giving incremental bonus music based on what you paid for their new album?

I was pretty impressed with Kanye West's new music video which retells the anime classic, Akira, to the audio backdrop of Daft Punk's "Stronger." Kanye plays the part of Tetsuo, the emotionally unstable youth who is struggling to manage an increasing power that is out of his control.

The mashup works extremely well, though I would have loved to see Tetsuo's signature uncontrolled mutations instead of popular music's obligatory uncontrolled hot dancing woman.

"The Internet has made finding a particular piece of music a straightforward process; simply knowing the title, performer, or composer can typically get you to the work you're looking for. But for most people, a key aspect of music appreciation lies in the discovery of the new: a previously unknown work or artist that is both appealing and fresh. Help for those looking for new music may be on the way in the form of a search tool funded by the National Science Foundation that is claimed to identify aesthetic similarities between pieces of music.
Search scene guru John Battelle pointed us to the NSF's funding announcement, which is a bit sparse on the details. Additional details can be found in previous works by the grant's recipient, including a peer-reviewed publication and a meeting presentation."

This dude can rock two guitars at the same time! There are a few more, but I'm a big fan of his interpretation of the Simpsons theme.

Here is a video of a "hand jive" put to the music of Daft Punk's "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger". It was all done in one take and there was no editing. The first 50 seconds are pretty boring, but hang in there... It gets better... MUCH better.

A really cool (but odd) music video I happened across on the internet archive.

It consists of a bunch of retro video footage of fake and real robots -- think worlds fair -- to which a chorus of "robot love, I love you" is sung by a pitch-tweaked child.

Now this is something I've never seen before... The Sea Organ is an actual organ which is seventy meters long and is played by the sea. Pictures and an audio file of sounds from the organ are provided via the link.

I was having a discussion about the uke with a friend the other day and he mentioned he'd never seen this video. I looked it up and found it for him. I watched it again and am still mesmerized.
